Job Description / Duties

Responsibilities of the position include teaching applied voice at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Music Department and Faculty of Fine Arts, teaching and supporting the creative technologies programs within the Faculty of Fine Arts, and providing support to the Music Department’s choral program (which ideally will include musical theatre). Other teaching responsibilities may be assigned according to the needs of the Department and/or Faculty and the background and abilities of the candidate. The successful candidate will also help recruit, advise and retain students and will also supervise graduate and undergraduate student work. While establishing and maintaining an international reputation as a vocal professional the successful applicant will also be expected to serve on department, faculty, and university committees, and participate in faculty, university, and community life.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The successful candidate will have a strong research program and professional experience as a performer in music and new art forms. The applicant will have demonstrated excellence in teaching applied voice, demonstrated success in interdisciplinary collaborations, demonstrated/strong interest in new technologies and vocal performance and, preferably, experience working with university vocal ensembles. Applicants must have a PhD, DMA or equivalent professional experience and successful teaching experience at the post secondary level.
