Job Description / Duties

Position Summary:
Studio teaching of undergraduate and graduate voice majors; teach required undergraduate and graduate courses in vocal pedagogy. Service on Jacobs School committees and participation in departmental meetings, hearings, auditions, recruitment activities and doctoral advisory committees is expected.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Required Qualifications:
Established or emerging national reputation as a successful teacher in both studio lessons and classroom settings. Demonstrated success in teaching vocal pedagogy classes, with an emphasis on voice science including the use of emerging technologies. Master’s degree in hand required by the date of hire (August 1, 2015); equivalent professional experience will be given equal consideration.

Additional Information

The search committee will consider both junior and senior applicants; appointment will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, as appropriate; ten-month, tenured or tenure-track position. For tenure-track appointees: initial three-year appointment followed by annual appointments upon successful reappointment reviews; tenure decision in the sixth year after initial appointment.

Salary: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
