Job Description / Duties

Greenville College is seeking a dynamic voice instructor to serve as a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor of music to start in August, 2016. This individual will oversee the applied voice program and teach undergraduate lessons and classes in both classical and commercial musical styles.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications: Seeking applicants with a terminal degree (ABD or master’s degree with significant professional experience considered) with competency in both commercial and classical vocal performance and instruction. Secondary competency in teaching music history, commercial music classes, or vocal ensemble directing is desirable. College teaching experience is preferred. The successful applicant should be enthusiastic about teaching beginning level courses as well as upper division courses. Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching and committed to serving as a role model for students within a Christian academic community. A vibrant personal Christian faith commitment is required, as well as a strong commitment to a broadly Wesleyan tradition.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time faculty load is 11-13 credit hours per semester. Other responsibilities include assisting in departmental recruitment of students, student advisement, and regular participation in committee work. Collaborative faculty performance is expected.

COMPENSATION: Salary is based on academic preparation and years of relevant experience.
