Job Description / Duties

Responsibilities include heading the opera program at UNT, working in conjunction with the Musical Director. Directs operas (for the current season, see here: https://opera.music.unt.edu/calendar). Teach classes in operatic acting and opera directing. UNT College of Music faculty members are expected to conduct their work with professionalism, high ethical standards, and collegiality.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in music, a minimum of five years experience running all aspects of a college/university opera program or a professional opera company.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in music, preferably in opera, or significant professional experience. Professional experience may be considered in place of a doctorate in music.

Additional Information

Rank:
Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). However, given the position, Full Professor would be preferred, but other ranks are possible.

Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience

September 1, 2017
