SCNATS Fall Workshop

The 2014 Fall Workshop will be held at the University of South Carolina in Columbia on Saturday, September 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm. This year our fall workshop has four workshops presented by SCNATS Chapter members.

LOCATION: University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC - School of Music Room 006

Session 1:

The Music Development Program - National Standards for the Independent and Collegiate Teachers: A comprehensive, flexible curriculum for all levels of studio teacher. Bringing all our students to a standard recognized nationally.

Session 2:

Demystifying the Assessment Experience: Experience the comprehensive nature of the assessment process, and the joy of singing for both student and adjudicator.

Session 3:

Musical Theatre Singing: An introduction to Musical Theatre singing with emphasis on basic technique, repertoire selection, source materials, and the NATS Audition categories.

Presented by Serena Hill-LaRoche and Sharyn J. Mapes

Session 4:

Happy and Healthy Singing for Children and Young Teens: Successful strategies for teaching singing to children and young teens: helpful techniques, repertoire, and how to meet cultural and parental challenges.
