2:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Internationally trained and acclaimed performer and educator, Ruth Rainero received her Masters in Voice and Voice Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Her areas of expertise range from early baroque to contemporary music, and she performed throughout Europe at various international festivals and with a wide range of ensembles. Ms. Rainero was on the faculty at the American Conservatory Theater (ACT) in San Francisco, the University of California at Davis and Skyline College in San Bruno. She speaks five languages, sings in five more and has been teaching singing-first in Amsterdam and then San Francisco-for thirty years. Her article, Practicing Vocal Music Efficiently and Effectively: Applying "Deliberate Practice" to a New Piece of Music, appeared in the NATS Journal of Singing. She will be leading a presentation and Master Class on developing efficient and effective practice habits, demonstrating her concepts by working with students in a Master Class format.

Ms. Rainero will end the program by addressing common vocal disorders.

Ms. Rainero welcomes students of any age to present selections (in preparatory state) from either classical or musical theater repertoires.
