CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
The Indiana University Student NATS Chapter extends an invitation to join us for the 7th Annual New Voice Educators Symposium. The Symposium is designed to provide a forum for information and discussion about vocal performance, vocal pedagogy, voice science, vocal literature, and any other related subjects. Our mission is to provide new and future teaches of singing the opportunity to present academic papers in a formal, yet friendly atmosphere.
Who: Any person currently pursuing a degree in voice or a voice related field OR any college/university-employed voice teachers with less than five years of full-time, collegiate teaching experience.
What: Presentations should 25-30 minutes total. 10 minutes of that time should be reserved for questions/discussion. Petitions for additional time will be considered.
When: Applicants should send an abstract of approximately 200 words outlining their presentations by January 7, 2011, to Jeromo Sibulo at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Cost: Admission to the two-day Symposium is free. Travel is at each individual's expense. Please refer to http://www.indiana.edu/~iusnats/ for information regarding travel to Bloomington.

Founded in 1944, National Association of Teachers of Singing, Inc. (NATS) is the largest professional association of teachers of singing in the world with more than 7,000 members in the United States, Canada, and over twenty-five other countries. NATS offers a variety of lifelong learning experiences to its members: workshops, intern programs, master classes, and conferences. Students of NATS members have access to one of the organization's most widely recognized activities: Student Auditions. They have the opportunity, along with members, to compete at a national level through National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards (NATSAA). In 2012, NATS will begin auditioning for the first National Musical Theater Competition (NMTC). Final Rounds for NATSAA and NMTC will take place at the NATS 52nd National Conference in Orlando. NATS supports the growth and enrichment of its members through the publication of Journal of Singing, a scholarly journal comprised of articles, written by distinguished experts, on all aspects of singing and the teaching of singing. |
