While NATS Chapters and Regions hold a variety of local workshops, NATS National Workshops are larger-scale events open to all NATS members and interested non-members. There are usually two Association Workshops offered each year, a Summer and a Winter Workshop, or just the Winter Workshop when a summer NATS Conference is also scheduled. NATS Workshops offer a chance to travel, meet other teachers and clinicians, and develop or extend your knowledge about a specified topic. Please join us at our next upcoming Association Workshop!
Headliner Master Class and Performance Denyce Graves and Warren Jones
Collaborative pianist Warren Jones and acclaimed mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves will be headlining the NATS Spring Workshop in collaboration with MTNA, March 26-30, 2011 at the Hilton Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The workshop that also will include master classes and presentations by collaborative pianist J.J. Penna, mezzo soprano Karen Brunssen, artist agent Robert Mirshak, and composer and singer David Sisco, winner of the 2010 NATS Art Song Composition Award. Sisco and Tom Gualtieri will also present an evening cabaret performance.
Some of the topics covered include: "The Working Artist: Collaboration Across Multiple Disciplines", "Reading Into Things: Singers, Pianists, Poems and Stories" and “Changing Times: Arts Organizations, Singers, and Managers.” In addition, sessions on voice related topics from MTNA presenters will be included. Attendees will also benefit from the extensive exhibit hall, networking opportunities, and many other sessions at the MTNA conference.
