The National Association of Teachers of Singing released the Spring 2013 issue of Inter Nos on Thursday, Feb. 28.
Included in this member-only publication are articles on numerous important topics: from health care coverage for teachers, to effectively scheduling makeup lessons, to being a more dynamic leader for your students in the studio. Associate Editor Nancy Bos has once again compiled a wealth of important information to aid in your development as a professional.

NATS seeks program coordinator, membership services coordinator to join executive staff |

NATS Chat, Sunday, Feb. 10: Everything you wanted to know about formants, but were afraid to ask - with Scott McCoy |
 After a month away due to the holiday season, the NATS Chat series resumed on Sunday, Feb. 10, with a visit from Scott McCoy, professor of voice and pedagogy at The Ohio State University. Along with moderator Kari Ragan, McCoy discussed "everything you ever wanted to know about formants, but we afraid to ask."
"We invest a tremendous amount of time in traditional voice pedagogy studying the body," McCoy wrote to open the chat. "But realistically, what can we control? Knowning how the TA muscle works doesn't help, as we can't control it. Resonance and formants are under our direct control. If we understand formants and their relationship to the vowels and pitches we sing, our lives are made much easier as teachers and singer."

From The Executive Director: Achievement Program to undergo name change, remain oustanding resource for members |

As most of you know, this past year NATS was involved in the implementation of the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Achievement Program, and we helped launch the new voice series entitled Resonance at the NATS National Conference last summer in Orlando. Carnegie Hall and The Royal Conservatory announced this week that Carnegie Hall will be focusing on other initiatives in the future and that The Royal Conservatory will be solely responsible for the program moving forward. In addition, the program will be rebranded without the Carnegie Hall name.

NATS invites members to submit nominations for national offices |
|
An invitation is issued to all NATS members, chapters, districts, and regions to submit suggestions for nominees for the national offices that will be open as of July 2014.
These offices may include those of president-elect, vice president for membership, vice president for workshops, vice president for NATS Artists Awards, vice president for discretionary funds and field activities, and secretary/treasurer.
