Job Description / Duties

Provide private vocal instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels. May also include substitute teaching coverage and participation in studio recitals/events.

Qualifications / Required Skills

- Music Degree (or currently pursuing one), and/or substantial equivalent training and experience. Some coaching and mentorship can be provided to help new instructors adapt to our studio's teaching approach as needed.

- Capability to teach students at various levels of experience

- Strong music reading, theory, musicianship skills

- Teaching experience and/or training in music ed/pedagogy

- Ability to teach healthy vocal technique

- Being well-versed in many vocal styles is a plus (but it’s OK to have a specialty!)

- Should be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills with students as well as parents

- Should be organized, willing to keep a consistent teaching schedule, and able to utilize technology (training provided)

- Applicants will need to provide references and background clearances.

Additional Information

Schedule / days in order of preference (can be flexible): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; primarily 4-8pm

An ideal candidate:
- Has the background to teach students of all ages and skill levels

- Is ready to build a roster/schedule

- Can substitute for other teachers in Boyertown

- Is available for our flexible package lesson schedule which allows you to add in extra hours as your availability permits

Piano teaching ability is a plus!

Salary: $30.00 to $45.00/hour as a 1099 subcontractor (depending on level of education and experience)

We offer private instruction in a variety of disciplines and models (weekly lessons, packages, à la carte), as well as choirs, vocal ensembles, and small group music classes.

Our voice teachers can teach private lessons only or make themselves available for additional work with choirs, camps, and ensembles as needed.
