Job Description / Duties

The Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College requests applications for a Coordinator of Vocal Studies: Assistant Professor of Music, tenure-track.

We seek a coordinator of vocal studies with a strong record of teaching and performance whose primary responsibilities include teaching applied voice for music majors/minors and directing opera workshop. Additional teaching responsibilities may include vocal literature, vocal pedagogy, diction, chamber music, and other assignments commensurate with the candidate's strengths and institutional needs. As coordinator of vocal studies, the successful candidate will collaborate with vocal and choral faculty/staff to assign studio placements, organize and lead weekly voice studio classes, and audition non-major and minor voice students. As an active performer, the successful candidate is expected to provide an exemplary artistic model through solo and/or collaborative performance on and off campus. Academic advising and participation in college governance and music admissions activities (i.e., recruiting and auditioning students) is expected of all faculty. Qualifications / Required Skills

Evidence of significant performance and collegiate teaching. Doctoral degree in performance preferred; MM with equivalent experience and expertise considered.
