Job Description / Duties

Westminster Choir College of Rider University (Princeton Campus) invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Assistant Professor position in the Department of Piano and Voice to start in August of 2016. All voice classifications will be considered.

Duties: The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include teaching applied voice. Depending on background and experience, other teaching responsibilities may include courses in diction.

Westminster Choir College of Rider University has an international reputation for excellence in voice, choral performance, and music education, and sacred music offering Baccalaureate degrees in voice performance, music education, sacred music, and the Bachelor of Arts in Music, as well as Master’s degrees in voice performance and pedagogy, voice pedagogy, music education, sacred music, piano, organ and choral conducting. The College draws its students from some 30 states and 10 foreign countries. The College occupies a beautiful, suburban campus in Princeton, New Jersey. It is located within easy driving distance of Philadelphia and New York City.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a master’s degree in voice performance or voice pedagogy by September of 2016 and demonstrate significant professional experience as well as successful teaching experience of undergraduate and graduate students in a college or university setting. Significant performance and teaching experience may be considered in lieu of the master’s degree. Exemplary musicianship, innovative pedagogical skills, and evidence of ongoing performance or scholarship are required. Candidates with experience working and teaching in culturally diverse environments are welcomed.
