Job Description / Duties

Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Music seeks a voice teacher at the rank of
Associate Professor to join the Voice Department. Preference is for a male voice, especially a
tenor. The successful candidate will possess a substantive performance profile at a national
level of achievement, evidence of student/alumni success at the college level, teaching
experience in voice performance courses such as song literature, special topics, or vocal
pedagogy, and administrative and leadership experience within an academic environment.
Terminal degree or demonstrated professional equivalent required; previous teaching at the
college level required. This is a non-tenure track position.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The position requires vocal instruction of both male and female students in the undergraduate
(BM) and graduate vocal performance programs (MM, DMA) as well as the Performance
Diploma and Opera Institute certificate programs. The successful candidate will show evidence
of collegial and professional working relationships within voice/choral/opera realms, and
exhibit aptitude for and interest in the potential for eventually chairing the department of voice
performance.
Anticipated date of appointment: July 1, 2018.
