Job Description / Duties

The Cedarville University Department of Music and Worship in the School of Arts & Humanities seeks candidates for a full-time contemporary voice faculty teaching position beginning August 2026. Rank is commensurate with experience and credentials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching private contemporary voice lessons to undergraduate students, primarily worship majors; teaching Class Voice; and making significant contributions to the artistic and academic environment at one of the nation’s top Christian Universities.

Based on the successful candidate’s skills, other duties may include teaching musicianship courses, coaching and directing worship ensembles, and teaching other classes in support of the Worship Degree.

The Department of Music and Worship includes thirteen full-time faculty and sixteen part-time instructors. The Department offers comprehensive programs in music and worship. The faculty and students present over 100 music and worship performances each year. The Department offers MB and BA degrees in addition to a graduate certificate in Worship Leadership. Cedarville University is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications:
Master’s degree required, a doctoral degree preferred in a field related to job responsibilities.
Female voice preferred.
Training and expertise in Estill Voice Training (EVT), Somatic Voicework (the LoVetri Method), or Contemporary Commercial Music strongly preferred. If no contemporary training, the candidate will be asked to acquire these skills.
Successful record of private studio teaching required. Successful college-level teaching is preferred.
Worship leading experience preferred.
Excellent musicianship, including fluent keyboard skills to support voice instruction required.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent administrative skills.
A personal, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
