Job Description / Duties

The Department of Music at Chabot College welcomes applicants for a part-time, Director of Choral and Vocal Studies position. This position will lead the choirs as well as teach applied voice and other vocal courses within the music department.

Qualifications/Experience:
Documented success in the development of a choral program and recruitment. Demonstrated competence in applied vocal teaching and performance. Large ensemble conducting and rehearsal experience and ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Finalists for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process, as judged by the department faculty.

Duties:
• Serve as the musical director of the choral program. This includes the planning of rehearsals, performances, and instruction for the choral program
• Teach applied voice lessons and maintain a vocal studio
• Teach courses within the vocal curriculum
• Contribute to the department and college’s shared governance structure

Qualifications / Required Skills

Master’s in music OR Bachelor’s in music AND Master’s in humanities OR the equivalent
