Employer Profile

The DePauw University School of Music recently launched the 21st-Century Musician (21CM) Initiative, a complete reimagining of the skills, tools and experiences necessary to create musicians of the future instead of the past; for example, flexible, entrepreneurial musicians who find diverse musical venues and outlets in addition to traditional performance spaces, develop new audiences, and utilize their music innovatively to impact and strengthen communities. Our program is one of the few required multi-course entrepreneurial music curricula in the country. With a focus on creating musicians of the future instead of the past, this is an exciting time in the 134-year history of the school.

Located in Greencastle, Indiana, about a 45-minute drive west of Indianapolis, DePauw is also home to a 520-acre nature park - which includes at least 9 miles of trails - and Historic East College, built in 1877, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. DePauw is committed to diversity in its student body, faculty, staff, and curriculum.
