Job Description / Duties

Teach elementary music education methods course; teach applied voice, (experience with classical and music theatre pedagogy required); conduct a choral ensemble; supervise internships for music education students; cultivate productive, professional relationships with public schools teachers; participate in faculty governance. Additional responsibilities may be assigned according to the candidate’s abilities and the needs of the institution.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The successful candidate will be an excellent and experienced musician and teacher with a commitment to liberal arts education. Teaching experience at the elementary level is required; college or university teaching experience is highly preferred. A graduate degree in music is required.

It is housed in the Mabee Fine Arts Center and has approximately 120 music majors, with approximately ninety voice principals. The Division of Music has 20 full-time faculty. Bachelor of Music degrees are offered in Performance, Worship Arts, Musical Theatre, and Music Education with emphasis in either choral or instrumental music. In addition there is a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and music industry. The Division of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
