Job Description / Duties

• Teach up to six voice students in weekly, hour-long lessons
• Lead and/or participate in master classes and rehearsals to support student development
• Perform in faculty artist concerts (eclectic programming) with the potential for a full-length recital
• Mentor students participating in opera, musical theater, and art song programming

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Active Mezzo or Tenor performer in opera or musical theater with demonstrated teaching experience
• Passion for working with young artists in a summer training program setting
• Flexibility and interest in crossover artist who enjoys performance of multiple genres (classical, jazz, folk, gospel, R&B, etc.)
• Recruitment experience and professional connections that may yield students for this tuition-based program

The Bay View Music Festival (Petoskey, MI) has opportunities for Mezzo-Soprano and Tenor performers/voice studio teachers for its 2026 summer season. The Festival, part of the Bay View Association, is one of the nation’s longest-running music training programs and offers intensive performance and study opportunities for collegiate and young professional singers. Summer 2026 will feature candidates performing and teaching on campus with possibility of hiring a full voice faculty member in 2027. (Sessions: June 19-July 6, July 6-20, or July 20-31. May vary slightly depending on artist avail)
