The NATS Art Song Composition Award celebrates excellence in the creation of new vocal literature and encourages composers to contribute meaningful works to the art song repertoire. Open to eligible composers, the competition recognizes outstanding original compositions written for voice and piano while helping expand the body of music available to singers and collaborative pianists.

Winning composers receive national recognition, cash awards, and the opportunity to have their work performed at the 60th NATS National Conference in 2028. The competition provides a unique platform for composers to share their artistry with the NATS community and audiences from across the country.
