Benjamin Perez performed in the 2nd National Tour of the seminal Latino musical, IN THE HEIGHTS, as the father, Kevin Rosario, under the direction of the original Broadway creative team headed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. He has since performed the role with many other regional companies and has directed three very successful productions of IN THE HEIGHTS around Southern California. Nominated for 15 Broadway World Awards, including Best Director of a Musical, his production of IN THE HEIGHTS at the Carpenter Center in Long Beach was Musical Theater West’s highest grossing show in their 65 year history. In the 1st National Tour of the Gershwin musical NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, he played Senator Max Evergreen under the direction of Tony Award winner, Kathleen Marshall, and David Eggers. Benjamin won Inland Theater League Awards for his roles as Gomez Addams in THE ADDAMS FAMILY and Tito Merelli in LEND ME A TENOR and is currently starring as Bill Austin in MAMMA MIA! With his va  st knowl  edge of musical theater from the Golden Age through current contemporary works, he is sought after as a coach, director, performer and IN THE HEIGHTS and HAMILTON consultant.

 

Dr. Tish Oney, international recording artist, arranger, composer and Artistic Director, currently tours as a symphony pops soloist, big band soloist, light lyric soprano, and artist-in-residence. She is especially esteemed as a jazz performer. Oney presents symphony shows and big band shows written by Grammy-winning arrangers. An avid arranger and composer in her own right, she has arranged several hundred pieces for jazz combo, including hits from the Great American Songbook, as well as her own originals. She is called upon to work with professional, university and community choirs as a choral conductor, and with vocal jazz ensembles as a guest conductor or artist-in-residence. Dr. Oney earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree with honors from the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, and a Master of Music degree with honors in Voice Performance from Ithaca College.
