9:30-10:30am- Melinda Brou : Grant Writing for Musicians.
Melinda will discuss types of projects in the arts that are frequently funded; how to find grants; demystifying the language of grants; and common mistakes that first time grant writers make. As part of the discussion, she will walk lecture attendees through some of her recent grant-funded projects.
10:45-11:45 -Mark Covey: Ten Early Spanish Songs arranged by Arne Dorumsgaard.
This presentation will be focused around the art song collection of Arne Dorumsgaard entitled, Ten Early Spanish Songs. These are modern romantic arrangements of songs written by composers during the Spanish renaissance, such as Mudarra, Milan, Anchieta, and several others. He will be performing these songs with a pianist and a guitar accompaniment.
