Wisconsin NATS - Dr. Marquese Carter Residency

Dr. Marquese Carter, a voice faculty member at Georgia Southern University, and a specialist on African American art song, specifically the music of Florence Price. He will present a noon-hour recital, a masterclass with soloists, and a workshop with the UW-Whitewater Chamber Singers. All events take place in the Light Recital Hall in the Greenhill Center of the Arts, and are free and open to the public.

 

12:00 p.m. - Recital: Marquese Carter, tenor, and Myung Hee Chung, piano (Poulenc:Tel jour, telle nuit plus selections by Bonds, Price, Ragland, and Burleigh)

 

2:30 p.m. - Masterclass

 

4:00 p.m. - Workshop with the UW-Whitewater Chamber Singers (Spirituals and compositions by African American composers)

 

All events take place in the Light Recital Hall in the Greenhill Center of the Arts, and are free and open to the public.
