SUMMARY:Cal-Western Region Hybrid Student Auditions and Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 Cal-Western NATS Regional auditions will be held as 
 hybrid auditions. Because the Regional auditions serve to select the stu
 dents who advance to the National You-Tube round, we adhere closely to a
 ll national NATS standards. The Regional auditions are not directly conn
 ected to the chapter/district auditions. This means any student studying
  with a NATS teacher in the Cal-Western region may participate, regardle
 ss of participation or placement in chapter/district auditions. Converse
 ly, placing in chapter/district auditions does not affect standing in th
 e regional auditions.\n\nThe first round of auditions will be held virtu
 ally in the fall of 2023. The live semi-finals and finals will be held a
 t the 2024 Regional Conference and Auditions at the University of Utah i
 n Salt Lake City, Utah, from January 12-14, 2024. Students must\npresent
  the SAME repertoire at all rounds of the auditions, including the natio
 nal rounds.\n\n**Timeline for 2023-24**\n\nOctober 6* Registration opens
  for the first round. Registration includes all student information and 
 YouTube links.\n\nNovember 9* Registration closes. Suggested District de
 adlines are as follows:\n\nUtah District Deadline: 11-4-23\nArizona Dist
 rict Deadline: 11-5-23\nNorthern California District Deadline: 11-6-23\n
 Southern California Deadline: 11-7-23\nHawaii District Deadline: 11-8-23
 \nNevada District Deadline: 11-9-23\n\nNovember 9-15* Vetting and remedi
 ation period.\n\nNovember 16* Judging assignments sent out. All teachers
  with participating students must judge or provide a substitute judge AT
  THE TOME OF REGISTRATION. NO exceptions.\n\nDecember 7* Judging assignm
 ents due.\n\nDecember 9/10* The top 7 students in each category or sub-c
 ategory will be announced. These students will participate in the live s
 emi-finals in Utah. Sub-categories may be combined in the semi-finals in
  accordance with the national rules.\n\nJanuary 13* Live semi-finals. Al
 l teachers with participating students are required to judge or provide 
 a substitute judge.\n\nJanuary 14* Finals. The top 3 students in each ca
 tegory or sub-category will perform a 3 minute selection (audition cuts 
 are permitted in the finals only). Any NATS member present can vote to r
 ank each category.\n\n**These dates are dependent on the completion of v
 etting, remediation, and judging, and therefore are subject to change.\n
