Bio:

Patrice is an Alberta-based musician, now living in British Columbia focusing on teaching voice, piano, theory and doing musical direction with such companies as Storybook Theatre, Front Row Centre and Stage West’s first Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat children’s chorus. As a vocal major with the University of Calgary, she graduated with her Bachelor of Music, With Distinction, and is the holder of several Polyna Savridi and Government of Alberta Louise McKinney scholarships. She was been section leader for many years with the Calgary Opera and performed such roles as “Olga” in the “The Merry Widow”; the “Shepherdess” in the Alberta touring company of “Amahl and the Night Visitors”; “Mother” in “Madame Butterfly”; the “Maid” in “Marriage of Figaro”; “Mother” in “La Forza del Destino” and the “Princess” in “Turandot. With FolksOpera she has performed “Agathe” in “Der Freischütz”: “Mother” in Hansel and Gretel”; “Franchette” in “The Lantern Marriage”; “Baroness” in “Die Wildschütz”. With the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus she section leader for many years and the Soprano soloist in Bach’s “Mass in B Minor”. With the Festival Chorus she was soprano section leader for many years and guest soloist as “Belinda” in “Dido and Aeneas”. With Debut Opera she was reprieved the role “Belinda” in “Dido and Aeneas”; “Rosalinda” in “Die Fledermanus”; and “Flora” in “La Traviata”. With the University of Calgary Symphony she performed the soprano solo in the Russian presentation of Scriabin’s “Symphony in E”. In a local production she was “Julie” in “Carousel”. She keeps a private music studio of approximately 80 students, and the students have gone on to receive the highest marks in Alberta and Canada in the Royal Conservatory exams. Locally her students have done very well in the Kiwanis Festival bringing home many medals and scholarships, performing in the Musical Showcase in the Jubilee Auditorium and the Provincials in Edmonton. She has students performing in the Canadian Opera Company, New York, Arizona and several are enjoying the seven seas performing on Cruise Ships. As musical director she has done over 75 shows such as “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”; “Sweeney Todd”; “Assassins”; “My Fair Lady”; “Beauty and the Beast”; “Seusiccal”; “Sound of Music”; “Anne of Green Gables”; “Annie”; “High School Musical”; “High School Musical 2”; “Les Misérables”; “White Christmas”; “Hairspray”, "Big", "Shrek" and currently is preparing to do “Peter Pan” with Storybook Theatre. She is also in demand as an Adjudicator for Kiwanis Music Festivals throughout Alberta. She has been nominated for and been recipient of several CATS’ awards for her work with the local theatre companies.

Studied with Ernest and Sandy Atkinson, James Beer, Alexander Gray and coached with Mario Bernardi.
