Bio: Janice Edwards, Mezzo-Soprano, has performed extensively in opera and oratorio in New England since moving to New Hampshire in 1999. New Hampshire Symphony, Nashua Symphony, New Hampshire Music Festival, Manchester Choral Society, Pioneer Valley Symphony, and Longwood Opera are among the organizations with which she has appeared. Prior to moving to New England, Ms. Edwards lived in Europe and appeared as soloist with the Prague Radio Orchestra, Dvořák Summer Music Festival, Orchestra of the State Theatre of Prague, and the Danish Sinfonietta, among others. In 2000, she established the Janice Edwards Voice Studio in Manchester, and is proud of a number of her students who have placed first and second in NATS competitions in Boston and Manchester. Several of Janice's students have performed in community theatre productions in southern New Hampshire, with multiple nominations and awards from the New Hampshire Theatre Awards organization. Four members of her studio will be appearing in ActorSingers' upcoming production of Les Misérables, including Max McGrath (Valjean), Peter Boettcher (Joly), Laura Prior (Woman #2) and Melany White (Ensemble). While on the faculty of Plymouth State University (2001-2006), Janice prepared many of her students for PSU musical productions. The Janice Edwards Studio has presented fully staged theatrical programs over the past five years including The Magic Flute, Opera Shorts, He Done Her Wrong - Tales from the Bad End of Love, and By Bernstein.
