Bio:

Kay Webb instructed many vocal students over the past 25 years. Now she starts a full-time vocal studio, while continuing to raise and support 6 very musically and otherwise talented children. As a child, Kay sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in a chicken yard, and “The Sun’ll Come Out Tomorrow” in front of department store mirrors. Her mother, Tracy Wells, also a singer and profound pianist, helped Kay start her path to a musical career at the early age of 5, by having her sing at several professional venues. She also taught Kay piano. Kay loves to perform and share her voice, and help others find their talent for music. Kay has sung extensively as soloist, choir member, pianist, music organizer, choir director, pianist, and composer at countless Church, school, community, and life events. Early highlights: leading small youth ensembles at Church and school, and composing the theme song “All for the Love of a Friend” for her Church youth conference. 1996-2000: She sang in many opera scenes, concerts, and other musical performances. 1999: Kay married Glen. They met in a group singing class! She instructed many students as an undergrad. 2000: She received her Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, Brigham Young University. 2001: Kay sang in many operas, opera scenes and music school events in the Master’s Program. She taught voice at B.Y.U. and in the community. 2003: She graduated with a Master’s in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy. She gave her Master’s recital while 3 mos. pregnant! Recent highlights: singing and assisting direct the Jefferson City Cantorum; organizing a children’s Camp S.H.A.R.E. for nursing homes; and teaching at Music, Art, and Dance camp and Itsy Bitsy Broadway. Kay loves to teach students of all ages in voice; she especially loves classical. Kay is looking forward to further professional singing! She also has an herbal consult business and health retreat, herbal plant business, and will have an organic food catering business and health retreat. Finally, she is getting groundwork prepared for The Oratorio Society of Jefferson City.
