Bio:

Erin Chenard is a soprano trained in classical singing. She is an active soloist, regularly performing throughout Southern and Midcoast Maine. She has sung with the Maine Pro Musica Orchestra, the Downeast Singers, the Calderwood Consort, Amethyst Ensemble, and is a founding member of the St. Mary Schola, a professional vocal ensemble based in Falmouth, Maine, which specializes in the performance of Renaissance and Baroque music. Ms Chenard is a graduate of Westminster Choir College and the University of Southern Maine School of Music and holds a Master of Music degree with a focus in Voice Pedagogy and Performance. She has served on the faculty of both the Bay Chamber Music School and Portland Conservatory of Music, and currently teaches at the college level as artist faculty at the University of Maine at Augusta.

Erin's teaching mission is to assist singers of all ages and abilities in developing healthy vocal technique for beautiful, dynamic singing, based on a clear understanding of the singing mechanism and grounded in practical musicianship skills. She believes in tailoring her approach to instruction based on ongoing assessment of the relative strengths and potential strengths for each individual student.
