Bio:

Dr. Sloggy is the director of Bluegrass Voice Care (www.bluegrassvoicecare.com). She has worked with singers on all levels; from upcoming stars to grammy nominated singers and Broadway performers. She also provides individual voice coaching for religious leaders, professional speakers, and executives.

Dr. Sloggy received a BA in Music from Methodist University, studying voice and piano, a MA in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Memphis. She received a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Kentucky under the mentorship of Dr. Joseph Stemple where her research focus was on the aging Elite Vocal Athlete. Dr. Sloggy completed her clinical fellowship in 2012 specializing in voice and swallowing disorders at the University of Kentucky Voice & Swallow Clinic where she worked as a voice pathologist/Singing Voice Specialist for 10 years, providing evaluations and treatment for voice and upper airway disorders and has extensive training and experience with voice in both the classical and CCM genres and vocal pedagogy. She has performed extensive as a musical theater performer and maintained a private vocal studio. She also served as an Adjunct Professor teaching Voice Disorders to undergraduate and masters students at East Kentucky University and has lectured on voice and taught voice therapy/vocal health workshops at national conferences, universities and corporations. Dr. Sloggy is certified in multiple techniques, including LSVT, Speak Out!, and Somatic VoiceworkTM The Lovetri Method. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds her certificate of clinical competence. She is licensed for medical speech pathology services in TN, KY, SC, NC, VA and OR.
