Bio: Jamie-Rose Guarrine, soprano, has performed on the stages of the Minnesota Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Chicago Opera Theater, Utah Opera, Florentine Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Madison Symphony and Opera, Opera Saratoga, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, The National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, Santa Fe Symphony, among many others. Her performance repertoire ranges from the baroque in the Pergolesi Stabat Mater and Handel's Agrippina, to modern works such as Mark Adamo's Lysistrata and Philip Glass' Galileo Galilei. Opera News has described her voice as “light, flexible and vibrant," and in a recent production of Richard Strauss' Arabella, declared she "traversed the Fiakermilli's coloratura flights with ease and clarity." Jamie-Rose graduated with her DMA in vocal performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and went on to participate in some of the country's most prestigious young artist programs. Dr Guarrine has presented master classes to young singers throughout the U.S., and prior to her appointment at UMass, she has held teaching positions at Illinois Wesleyan University, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
