Bio: Baritone Paul Laurence Fletcher's singing has been described as "a real find...virile, impassioned and seductive" (Hartford Courant), "beautiful and clear" (Danbury News-Times) and "superb" (American Record Guide). He has appeared as a featured soloist with the American Classical Orchestra, Orchestra New England, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra and many other leading southern New England and New York performing organizations in oratorio, opera, recital, chamber music and musical theater. He was chosen by Morten Lauridsen to perform the CD premiere of the composer's solo/chamber work "Be Still My Soul Be Still" as well as the solo version of Lauridsen's popular "O Magnum Mysterium" on Voce's "Sure On This Shining Night," recorded in close collaboration with the composer and described by American Record Guide as "superb" and "absolutely stunning." Mr. Fletcher is a former member of the professional ensembles, The Yale Choral Artists, Voce, and Pro Arte Singers, and also Actors Equity Association, and has performed principal and supporting roles in productions at Lamb's Theatre (Times Square), Theatre 315 (New York City), Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Opera Theatre of Connecticut, Shubert Opera, Hartford Stage, Ivoryton Playhouse and others, with Tony, Macheath, Lancelot, Emile deBecque, Joe Hardy, and Don Quixote among his professional credits. He is an honors graduate of Abilene Christian University (BMusEd) and The Hartt School (Master of Music in Voice, with distinction). He teaches privately in Oklahoma City and online.
