
Soprano Erin Burgess has been a featured soloist with the Hudson Valley Choral Society, Rochester Oratorio Society, and other choral organizations performing such works as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. John Passion, the Brahms Requiem, and Haydn’s Creation. She has performed in several summer concert series with Longwood Opera and New England Light Opera (Boston, MA), with Music Arts Alive (NH) as well as in several premieres of cantatas by American composer Karen Green. She has also performed as an ensemble member in productions with Granite State Opera and the D’Oyly Carte Opera. In addition to performances in opera and oratorio, Erin has also been active as a recitalist and has participated in the recital series at Westminster-by-the-Sea Presbyterian Church in Daytona Beach, FL and Madbury Congregational Church in NH.
Erin received her M.M. in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music and B.S. in Music Education with concentrations in Voice and Piano from Roberts Wesleyan College (Rochester, NY). Since 1998, she has maintained a private voice studio in Haverhill, MA, offering both individual and group instruction to students of varied ages and ability levels. She works with students in a variety of musical styles, including classical, musical theater, pop and jazz. Erin’s students have performed lead and supporting roles in community and high school music theater productions and have participated in choral festivals at the state and regional levels. While completing her graduate studies, Erin taught Applied Voice at Roberts Wesleyan College. She has also taught voice at the Brookline Music School (MA), the Academy of Community Music in Flourtown, PA and Quakertown High School (PA). In addition to her home studio, Erin also currently teaches voice at the Governor's Academy in Byfield, MA.
