Title: Voice Teacher

Bio:

My goal as a voice teacher is to help students unlock their vocal potential – to be the best singer they can be. I want to increase students’ appreciation for music by exposing them to new repertoire and provide students with performance opportunities. I hope students feel freedom to express themselves through the music they sing while relying on a solid foundation of vocal technique, basic music theory, and music reading skills that will last a lifetime.

Ms. Young maintains an active voice studio and is passionate about helping singers develop vocally while studying classical and musical theater repertoire. She lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana with her husband, pianist Jonathan Young. Natalie currently works as Associate Artistic Director and Soprano Principal Vocal Artist with Heartland Sings. Natalie Young has made her mark performing a wide variety of styles from opera to pop. As an oratorio soloist, Ms. Young’s credits include: Mass in Blue (Todd), Stabat Mater (Pergolesi), Song of the Shulamite (McCullough), Requiem (Mozart), Messiah (Handel), Requiem (Brahms), Dixit Dominus (Handel), Messe Basse (Fauré), in addition to Bach cantatas 22, 36, 140, and 211. She also maintains a busy recital and concert schedule and most recently sang as a guest soloist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Players Association, Purdue University - Fort Wayne, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and various concert series' in the Fort Wayne area. Her concerts often feature her command of pop, country, jazz, and musical theatre styles. Principal opera and musical theatre roles include: Sister Angelica (The Three Hermits, Heartland Sings), Kate (An Evening with Cole Porter, Heartland Sings), Micaëla & Frasquita (Carmen, Leonhardi Ensemble/Munich), Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore, Opera Naples), Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute, Lawrence Opera Theatre), Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance, Opera in the Ozarks), and Mother Abbess (The Sound of Music, Theatre in the Park) .
