Hi there! My name is Eric. I use he/him pronouns and I am excited that you’re here!

Hi there! My name is Eric. I use he/him pronouns and I am excited that you’re here!

I enjoy cultivating a teaching career that includes work in colleges and universities (I currently teach at Norwalk Community College and formerly taught at Fairfield University, Anna Maria College and New York University) as well as private voice instruction, music directing and accompanying singers for recitals and recording sessions!

I’m committed to my own path of lifelong learning, which includes some really wonderful mentorship, engaging with my community of voice professionals through organizations like NATS and PAVA, attending workshops, reading a lot of nerdy stuff, and the formal training I’ve had. The voice fascinates me in its ability to adapt in more ways than I ever thought imaginable! I love exploring alongside a student and finding some authentic options for any given song.

I’m passionate about offering gender-affirming voice care through voice lessons. Exploring vocal colors and strategies that will help students find authenticity in a voice that aligns with their gender identity is an awesome privilege and I am honored each time a student trusts me to walk this path with them.

The singers I work with do a lot of cool stuff. We often set goals around what a student wants to be able to do, including things like districts and all-states festivals, applying to music schools, auditioning for solos, preparing for open-mic nights or other shows, auditioning for musicals or operas. If there is something you want to be able to do with your voice, let’s come up with a plan to achieve it! If you want to hear some things my students have to say, visit the testimonials page!

I love all genres of singing. My students work on musical theater songs, classical or operatic art songs and arias, contemporary music, worship music, and original songs (I love love LOVE when students are comfortable sharing their songwriting work with me).

I teach in person lessons to singers who are fully vaccinated in Massachusetts and New York and I offer virtual lessons via zoom to students from all over the place!
