Bio: Katelynd Blake holds a degree in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University – Idaho. Upon graduation she taught as an Adjunct Music Professor at BYU – Idaho from April 2010 to April 2012, teaching Private and Group Voice Lessons and Music Theory and Ear Training courses. She has been teaching in her thriving private studio, Blake Music Studios, for over 10 years. Katelynd has performed in fully staged productions of “Die Zauberflöte” as Pamina, “Dido and Aeneas” as Belinda, “The Old Maid and the Thief” as Laetitia and in opera scenes of “Così fan Tutte” as Despina and “Le nozze di Figaro” as Susanna. She has a particular love of Baroque music and has performed as a Soprano Soloist in Handel’s “The Messiah” for over 10 years. Katelynd has studied with renown vocalists Ariel Bybee, Kristine Ciesinski, Dr. Jon Linford, and Dr. Carla Rae Cook. Katelynd is persistent about continuing her education in vocal pedagogy and literature in order to pass this information along to her students. Many of her students have performed as leads in Community and High School Theatre productions, have auditioned and have been accepted into the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, have been selected as Sterling Scholars in Voice and Musical Theatre, and have competed and placed in Solo and Ensemble at the State Level. Her studio offers students the opportunity to learn in a friendly atmosphere that encourages them to take risks and sing freely.
