Bio:

Suzanne Schaafsma is a London, Ontario–based voice teacher and founder of NewSong Academy, where she works with singers of all ages, abilities, and experience levels—from those learning to match pitch for the first time to performing artists preparing for recording and professional performance. With over 15 years of experience in private studio teaching and past faculty experience as a voice specialist at an arts high school in Toronto, Suzanne brings both depth and versatility to her work.

Her teaching is rooted in holistic, person-centred voice instruction, grounded in current voice science and evidence-based pedagogy. Suzanne holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Toronto and has completed two summers of intensive professional development with the Contemporary Commercial Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah University.

Deeply committed to access, growth, and community through the arts, Suzanne has built a thriving and inclusive community of voices in London. Her studio supports recreational singers, students in theatre and contemporary music, adults returning to singing, and professional artists seeking refined, sustainable vocal technique for recording and performance.
