Title: Voice Teacher

Bio:

Madeline is a classically trained soprano and voice teacher. Her studio is located in the tristate area, with students of all ages from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Passionate about teaching, Madeline's primary goals are to foster healthy voices, sharpen musical skills, and develop a love for music in a nurturing environment. Madeline offers both in-person and online lessons.

Madeline especially enjoys the process of preparing students for auditions and performances. Her students have sung lead roles in school musicals and have participated in programs such as the Peabody Summer Vocal Academy, Met Opera Global Summer Camp, All-County and All-State Chorus, the Wilmington Children’s Chorus, and Solo and Ensemble competitions. Members of her studio regularly perform in productions at Milburn Stone Theatre and Street Lamp Productions. Madeline also helps her students further their education in music by preparing them for college and conservatory acceptance and study.

Madeline holds Vocal Performance degrees from Wheaton Conservatory of Music (B.M) and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (M.M.). She has been a featured soloist in concert works such as Mozart’s Requiem, Aaron Copland’s In the Beginning, and Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël. She also has sung operatic roles which include Frasquita in Carmen, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and Hansel in Hansel and Gretel. Madeline enjoys giving recitals and singing with her brother James Ley, who is a tenor. She also is a soloist and chorister at the historic Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.
