Bio:

Ms. Lauren D’Ottavio, M.A. in Music & Music Education from Columbia University in NYC, and New York State Certified Music Teacher, is the owner of the private music studio for piano and voice lessons, Studio D’Ottavio. Lauren trains budding artists to become the musicians they want to be, through the teaching of musical technique and performance, directly from the professional world of singing and piano. The Studio provides students with the ability to express themselves through their artistry.

The Studio offers a Monthly Tuition Plan that Includes the Following:

- Weekly, hour-long lessons, customized to the student's goals

- Resources from the the top organizations for music education, including NAfME, NYSSMA, and NATS

- Monthly Progress Reports, detailing the student’s accomplishments in lessons so far and a tangible plan on how to achieve their goals

- Consistent communication with Lauren, who will be available Mondays - Fridays, 3pm - 8pm, and a guaranteed response within 24 hours.

In addition to teaching lessons through her private studio, Ms. D’Ottavio is the Vocal Music Director and Music Chair at Regis High School in Manhattan. Ms. D’Ottavio is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University, having earned her master's degree in Music & Music Education with P-12 Initial Certification in New York State. She studied Vocal Pedagogy, Choral Pedagogy, Piano Pedagogy and Early Childhood Music Education, as well as Teaching Students with Disabilities. D’Ottavio earned her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance, Piano Performance, and Theater from Bard College and the Conservatory of Music in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Professionally, D’Ottavio is an active lyric soprano, with recent and upcoming performances in the U.S. and abroad. D’Ottavio most recently performed the role of Nannetta from Verdi's Falstaff in Jan 2020 with the New York Dramatic Voices and in July 2019 with the International Opera Performing Experience opera company in Mercatello sul Metauro, Italy. Other recent operatic roles include Pamina from Die Zauberflöte. Recent Musical Theater roles include Olive from “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and Cinderella from “Into the Woods.” Recent oratorio roles include soprano soloist in Stabat Mater by G.B. Pergolesi and Pie Jesu from the Faurè Requiem.
