Bio: Dr. Jane Clukey, mezzo soprano, is an active performer and teacher of classical and commercial singing styles from Georgetown, Maine. She appears frequently throughout Maine as a presenter, adjudicator, lecturer, music director, and workshop facilitator. Dr. Clukey received her Doctor of Musical Arts from Shenandoah Conservatory, her Master of Music from the University of North Texas, and her Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern Maine. In 2022, she successfully defended her dissertation “A Voice Teacher’s Guide to Temporomandibular Disorders in Singers” and in 2017 presented her research “Temporomandibular Disorder Symptom Prevalence in University Singers” at the 46th Annual Voice Foundation Symposium: The Care of the Professional Voice. Dr. Clukey is the Director of Music Education at the Chocolate Church Arts Center in Bath, ME, where she teaches private voice lessons. Her students are regularly recognized for their technical skills and artistry in vocal competitions and auditions. Dr. Jane is the Administrative Director for Gardenhouse Records, an independent record label and recording studio, and a member of the Maine Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Dr. Clukey regularly performs with the Studio Theatre of Bath, as "Christine McVie" in Crystal Vision, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, and the Gardenhouse Collective Band. An accomplished songwriter, Dr. Clukey has shared compositions at festivals and concerts throughout New England.
