Bio: Dr. Stacey Mastrian is a soprano, voice teacher, functional anatomy facilitator (certified Level III Franklin Method® Movement Educator), and diction and performance coach who empowers her students to make lifelong changes through holistic, client-centered learning that focuses on healthy minds, bodies, and voices. As a singer she has been hailed as a "sweet, shimmering soprano" (The Washington Post) who is "versatile and passionate" (Der Tagesspiegel) and has performed at Teatro La Fenice (Venice), Konzerthaus (Berlin), Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur (Montréal), St. Peter’s (Vatican City), Mexico (Puebla and Morelia), and has made acclaimed appearances in the U.S. as soloist with CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra, as Gilda in Rigoletto with the Summer Opera Theatre Company, as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance with the Washington Savoyards, and in countless recitals. As a Young Artist with Opera Lafayette, she has performed at the Kennedy Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center, and she made her debut at Carnegie Hall with the Chamber Orchestra of New York as winner of The Respighi Prize. Dr. Mastrian has been a Fulbright Grantee and Beebe Fellow and awarded prizes from such organizations as The American Bach Society, National Italian American Foundation, Shoshana Foundation (Richard F. Gold Career Grant), and Vocal Arts DC. She has recorded for NAXOS, Neuma, and Stradivarius. In 2010 she was selected for the prestigious NATS Intern Program, and she was a 2018 recipient of the Joan Frey Boytim Award for Independent Voice Teachers. Dr. Mastrian has taught at American University, Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and University of Maryland Baltimore County and College Park, and she was mostly recently Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Voice at Gettysburg College.
