Bio: Olivia Yokers is a director, performer, and educator. She recently joined the faculty of Stetson University as Director of Opera and Assistant Professor of Music. Her notable roles include Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, and Musetta in La Boheme. Ms. Yokers has performed as a solo artist with companies including Virginia Opera, Dayton Artist Alliance, Utah Festival Opera, and Oklahoma Lyric. As an advocate for new music, she participated in the debut of Before the Night Sky with Opera America and presented the world debuts of Behold the Man (Paul Fowler) and Letters to Lily (Emily Clements) with Opera Las Vegas. Ms. Yokers holds a Master of Music degree from Indiana University and is completing her Doctorate in Music at UNLV. She is a Body Mapping licensure trainee with the Association for Body Mapping Education. When she’s not performing, teaching, or directing, she enjoys spending time with her two cats, her dog, and her husband, Andre.
