Bio: Canadian Mezzo Soprano, Melissa Davis is a dynamic concert soloist, vocal professor, choral director and vocal clinician. Awarded the distinguished Debut Artist Award by the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Illinois, Ms. Davis has guest soloed with Grammy and Juno-award-winning choirs and orchestras including the Buffalo Philharmonic and Thunder Bay Symphony orchestras and has toured internationally singing in France, the UK, the Caribbean, and throughout North America. Davis released her live solo debut album, City Called Heaven: An Evening of Songs and Spirituals in 2015. Earning a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois, Dr. Davis has served as Director of the Music Department at Tyndale University, Professor of Voice at the University of Arkansas, and is currently Assistant Professor and Head of Vocal Performance at York University in Toronto.
