Bio: David Corman, the tenor has sung over one hundred leading roles of opera in 20 countries and 45 US states, 3000 performances, as Don Jose, Canio, Rodolfo, Cavaradossi, Faust, Penkerton, Alfredo, Otello, Hoffman, in operas such as Carmen, La Boheme, Tosca, Faust, Pagliacci, Madam Butterfly, Otello, La Traviata, Macbeth, Salome, Die Zauberflote, etc. He has sung with the Opernhaus Zurich, Chicago Lyric Opera, New York City Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Vienna Opera, Oper Bonn, Sante Fe Opera, Central City Opera, and many other venues. He has also sung with the New York Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Colorado Symphony, Montreal Symphony, and many others. He has sung with some of the great conductors of the world, including Sir George Solti, Zubin Mehta, Kurt Masur, Bruno Bartoletti, Franz Welser-Most, James Levine, Nikolaus Harnancourt, Christoph Von Dohnanyi, Anton Coppola, and Nello Santi. He has also premiered many works of modern composers including Phillip Glass, William Schuman, Henrich Henze, and Siegfried Matthus. A graduate of Friends University, Yale University, and the Julliard School of Music, he has also been a winner of several international competitions, including the Metropolitan Opera, The Puccini Foundation Award, The Zachary International Competition, and the Richard Wagner Outstanding Young Singer Award. As director of vocal music at Kansas Wesleyan University, University of Texas-Permian Basin, and Odessa College, he has led choirs and taught voice for 20 years. He has also produced 25 opera and musical theatre productions, including La Boheme, Fiddler on the Roof, Sweeney Todd, Faust, Pagliacci, and many others.
