Bio:

Dr. Regina Zona is an award-winning opera and cabaret singer, recording artist, master teacher of voice, and owner/creator of Singer Savvy Academy by the Zona Studio LLC.

As a master teacher of voice, Dr. Zona has been teaching for over 34 years. She has held teaching and director positions at several universities in the U.S., including serving as the Opera Program Director at the University of Minnesota Duluth from 2008 to 2012 and as Artistic Director of the Sieur Du Luth Opera Training Program for young aspiring opera singers from 2008 to 2010. In the fall of 2021, Dr. Zona launched Singer Savvy Academy by the Zona Studio LLC. Singer Savvy Academy serves singers at all levels and in all genres to transform into confident and well-rounded musicians, performers, and artists through online courses in piano skills, musicianship, sight singing, audition techniques, role preparation, and more.

As a classical singer, Regina has performed on opera and concert stages all over the world in a variety of repertoire from Mozart to Strauss. An avid recitalist, she specialized in the performance of American art song and recorded three song cycles by Jake Heggie for the Naxos American Classics Label. And in 2019 she began a new chapter, entering the world of cabaret winning the 2020 MAC AWARD for Best NY Female Debut with her cabaret, “Becoming…the Queen 2.0.” She also released her 2nd CD in the fall of 2021 called “Heart Songs: An American Medley,” a musical tapestry of American art song and the Great American Songbook. In the fall of 2022, she will debut her new Christmas album, “It Must Have Been the Mistletoe” with world-renowned guitarist, Sean Harkness.

Regina lives in Yonkers, NY just outside of New York City where she’s a wife, a mommy to three fur babies (Max, Jack, and Chester). She is obsessed with Bob Fosse and frequently breaks out in musical theatre lyrics!
