Bio: Norma Churchill, Soprano was born and raised Edmonton. After completing her B.Mus. at the University of Toronto she went on to England to continue her studies with Vera Rozsa and Paul Hamburger of the Guildhall School of Music. In addition, Norma completed courses at the Britten-Pears School of Music with Suzanne Danco and Hugues Cuenod, at the Beethoven Musikschule in Vienna with Sigrun Quentes. Her beautiful and expressive voice has been heard in performances with the Edmonton Opera Company, the Canadian Opera Company, Opera in Concert, the Toronto Operetta Theatre, and the Toronto Choral Society and abroad with orchestras in England and in Poland. She has also had the pleasure of premiering a number of Maria Case’s compositions in Toronto. Norma currently maintains a busy teaching schedule at the Kingsway Conservatory, St. Michael’s Choir School and her private studio, Cantare Studio. In addition, she has coached as a guest artist in arts schools in the TDSB, conducts masterclasses and musical theatre courses, adjudicates festivals and has been a member of the RCM College of Examiners since 2008.
