Bio:

Jennifer George-Consiglio, originally from New York, holds a BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music. Jennifer has worked as a professional singer, dancer, actress and choreographer for over 20 years. She has been teaching voice in the Metro-Detroit area for 10 years.

Her studies and performance experience cover a wide range of vocal styles.  Her introduction to voice came through, Helen Boatwright, who gave her the classical foundation which is her inspiration to this day. Jennifer also had the good fortune of studying vocal jazz with the great Diana Spradling at Syracuse University. At The Boston Conservatory, she continued her training with Walter Boyce and Robert Honeysucker both of whom furthered her grasp of classical technique and its application to all singing.  Jennifer enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities. She draws from both the Italian and German methodologies as well as Alexander Technique. She prides herself on her ability to help her students infuse their vocal performances with the beauty of emotion. Jennifer's students have monthly 'coffee house' performances. This has proven to be a successful tool for teacher and student alike. Giving students regular opportunities to sing in front of an audience aids in setting and achieving goals, puts into action skills acquired and practiced weekly, helps singers overcome performance anxiety and become confident performers!!

As a professional entertainer, Jennifer has performed extensively throughout the United States as well as internationally. She has enjoyed lead roles in such shows as ‘Evita’, ‘Fame’, ‘The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas’, ‘Nunsense’, ‘Little shop of Horrors’, ’La Cage Aux Folles’, ‘Celebration’, ‘The Songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber’, ‘Gypsy’, ‘Grease’, ‘Jerry’s Girls’, ‘Rob Bartlett and The Bartlettes’ etc. Jennifer has been a featured vocalist at Radio City Music Hall with Aretha Franklin, with Taylor Dayne in ‘Archy and Mehitibel’ and in Regis and Kathy Lee’s NYE Celebration in Time Square.
