
Denise Williams is currently on the part time faculty at Sheridan College, Oakville, ON, in the Music Theatre department and contract voice professor at the Canada Christian College. She has been teaching voice out of her own studio, recently named, Voices of Colour Music for over 30 years, a Royal College of Conservatory Examiner and national adjudicator, since 2000. Denise holds an ARCT Singing Diploma and Masters in Community Music. She is a soprano who comfortably crosses over from the concert, opera to theatre stages and has much teaching experience and understands the special needs of young voices, in restoring tired, strained, or aging voices, in understanding voices of colour, and is experienced with classical to contemporary styles. Her Voices of Colour music studio mission recognizes that each person posses a unique instrument, has individual needs, desires, and goals. "We strive to hone one's own natural vocal or instrumental colour and style through individually tailored studies which promote singing with ease and freedom. We understand how the psyche can get in the way and strive to channel the psycho-emotional path to successful performing; beginner or advanced, amateur or professional, classical or contemporary."
She is the founding Artistic Director of No Strings Theatre, a charitable, music theatre training ground for youths aged 13-21 and emerging production artists ages 19-35. Memberships include the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television, and Radio Artists (ACTRA), Canadian Actors Equity Association (CAEA) National, the Association for Teachers of Singing (NATS), The Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association (ORMTA), Theatre Ontario, and the Royal College of Conservatory Exam.
