Bio: Kaylé Brecher (Kay-La BrecKer) is a recording artist/performer with nine acclaimed albums and a many decades long performance career that has included concerts, festivals, live radio, a TV documentary soundtrack, clubs and other fine venues. Kaylé has a deep, seasoned and flexible knowledge of voice which she imparts generously to her students while carefully tailoring her approach to their individual needs. She is a well-respected, warm, dynamic and inspiring educator, with vast knowledge of vocal techniques, and more than thirty years of teaching experience spanning across most genres. Kaylé teaches beginners through professionals/youths and adults; holds certification in three levels of LoVetri Somatic Voicework™, is a certified teacher for Dr. Trineice Robinson's Soul Ingredients® Voice Studios; a member of Bobby McFerrin’s Circlesong tribe; and is a voting member of the Grammy Association (NARAS) as well as a member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing). Kaylé graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University in1989 with a double major (BM) in both jazz vocal performance and composition/arranging. While at Temple, alongside her jazz studies, she studied classical voice techniques with Dr. Christine Anderson and later took additional credits in Speech Pathology from West Chester University. A published and acclaimed composer/arranger and lyricist, after graduating Temple, Kaylé furthered her studies privately with Grammy nominated composer Jim McNeely and Grammy winning world acclaimed composer Michael Abene and was a member of the BMI Jazz Composers’ Workshop in New York City for many years. Imaginative, versatile and eclectic, Kaylé has performed in settings ranging from traditional jazz, blues and pop, through bop, free jazz, folk, country, classical and experimental music. She is a native New Yorker and began her career as a very young teen, singing blues and standards in the clubs of Greenwich Village. Originally from the Bronx, Kaylé is now based in the Philadelphia area, whose rich jazz traditions and musical heritage she honors.
