Bio:

A teacher, performer and educator, Karen Lecky-Springer currently resides in Central Florida. Karen received her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rollins College with emphasis in Vocal Performance and Conducting. She has over 15 years of training and teaching experience in voice, conducting, piano, dancing and acting. Karen has appeared as a soloist and guest conductor for special events up and down the east coast. In recent years, she has performed with the Bel Canto Choir where she was a featured soloist, appeared as a soloist at Walt Disney World, and acted in over a dozen musical and commercial productions. Karen has studied under several esteemed performers and educators including: Dr. Nancy Walker, Dr. Carole Ott, Dr. Welborn Young, Dr. John Sinclair, Dr. Ed Leroy, Pamela Coburn and Russell Franks to name a few.

Karen is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and serves on the music faculty at Rollins College and Seminole State College. She also runs her own music studio (the Lecky-Springer Music Studio), teaching voice, piano and conducting. Karen currently sings with the Bach Festival Choir of Winter Park and with Central Florida Vocal Arts. Some vocal performance highlights include soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah, Bel Canto choir member and soloist, various solo recitals, numerous community productions including various cabaret shows, Once Upon a Mattress, Wizard of Oz, Anything Goes, and Cinderella to name a few. As a conductor, Karen is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), Chorister's Guild, Handbell Musicians of America, and Chorus America. She currently serves as the Chorus Master for the Messiah Choral Society of Orlando. Prior to moving to Central Florida, Karen established a choir program and accompanying curriculum at a K-8 school in North Carolina and worked there as a teacher. Serving for several years as Director of Music and Worship arts at a large church in Greensboro, NC, Karen also directed and oversaw a robust music ministry including 3 adult choirs, a youth choir, children's choirs and a handbell choir.
