Bio: Before moving to Pennsylvania, Vicki Jamison, lyric coloratura soprano, was an active performer with the Milwaukee Opera Company and Florentine Opera Company in Wisconsin, singing the roles of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Frasquita in Carmen as well as a number of comprimario roles. She performed the title role in Princess Ida with the Connecticut Stage, Inc., and appeared as soloist with the Waterbury Symphony and Oratorio Society in Mozart's C Minor Mass. Since joining the part-time music faculty at Allegheny College she has performed regularly as a recitalist and soloist. In the Allegheny Summer Festival she sang the roles of Lucy in The Telephone and Madame Goldentrill in The Impresario, as well as the Mahler 4th Symphony and Bach Cantata 51. She has also appeared as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel and Adele in Die Fledermaus. She performed the soprano solo in the Vaughan Williams Dona nobis pacem with the Erie Philharmonic under Eige Oue. In 1991 she was selected to appear at the International Congress of Voice Teachers in a master class by Martina Arroyo and in a demonstration by Thomas Cleveland of her vocal apparatus while singing as seen through a fiberoptic camera. She was a demonstrator of singing techniques for a presentation on vocal abuse at a recent national convention of the American Speech and Hearing Association. Vicki maintains a private studio of voice students as well as teaching at Allegheny College. She has accepted referrals from the Pittsburgh Voice Center to help rehabilitate injured singers.
