2024 NATS Intern Program

The NATS Intern Program is an innovative and immersive experience that seeks to pair experienced and recognized master teachers with talented early-career members of NATS. Each voice intern teaches lessons to two students in an intensive, dynamic setting under the supervision of a master teacher. Collaborative piano interns participate in mentored coaching hours, coach students under the supervision of the collaborative piano master teacher, and accompany lessons. All interns perform in master classes, participate in educational sessions, and meet daily to discuss the lessons and coachings with their master teacher.

Instructions

Voice Interns

A voice intern applicant must be a member of NATS (full or associate) in good standing with less than 5 years of full-time teaching or the part-time equivalent. Working as a graduate teaching assistant does not count toward the 5-year limit. Holding a master's degree or higher, OR commensurate experience is required.

Collaborative Piano Interns

Preference will be given to applicants who are members of NATS (full or associate) in good standing, though non-members may apply with the understanding that all collaborative piano interns chosen will join NATS. Applicants should be at the beginning of their careers with less than 5 years of full-time collaborative work/teaching/coaching or the part-time equivalent. Working as a graduate teaching assistant does not count toward the 5-year guideline. Holding a master's degree or higher, OR commensurate experience is required.
